The Malaysia Best Managed Companies awards programme recognises top privately-owned local companies with annual revenues exceeding USD25 million (RM104 million) for their organisational excellence, as well as contributions in their respective industries and the economy.
The programme is part of Deloitte's global Best Managed Companies awards, one of the most significant business awards of its kind.
First established in 1993, it serves as a way for companies to benchmark themselves against the best private companies in the world.

"The Best Managed Companies awards provide an opportunity to celebrate these outstanding local household brands, who demonstrated the importance of strong leadership, innovation, and agility," said Yee Wing Peng, chief executive officer of Deloitte Malaysia.
These companies were assessed based on the quality of management in areas like strategy, capabilities and innovation, culture and commitment, as well as governance and financials.

According to Pierre Pang, group executive director of MAMEE-Double Decker, the key to the company's success is their 4Is – Integrity, Intensity, Involvement, and Innovation.
